TABLESCAPE THURSDAY - APPLES!
Time for those pretty Fall tablescapes, huh? I picked up 2 1/2 yards of this pretty butterscotch colored linen at Walmart for under $3 / yd. Then I found a cute apple print fabric that matched perfectly with it! I purchased enough for a runner, but since it is so wide, I plan to sew up some matching napkins for the set also.
I have to be honest here. My tablescapes are VERY user friendly! These are actually table settings that are used by my family! This was our tablescape for last Sunday's dinner.
Sometimes when I look at all the elaborate tablescapes, as beautiful as they are, I have to wonder if people really do eat at those tables! haha So pardon me if mine seem a little 'simple.' I just try to make our Sunday dinner special for my special family ;-)
Here's a little trick you can use at your next dinner or ladies meeting. Core an apple and insert a taper candle in the hollowed out center. They fit perfectly and look so stinking cute!
I see one of mine is leaning a bit - sorry. I should have checked that before I snapped the pic. But like I said, it was Sunday dinner and my family doesn't take to kindly to photo shoots when it's time for dinner! haha No, they really are patient. They humor and encourage me in my foodie photos! Sometimes it's with a roll of the eyes and a grin, but still.... haha
I love this little galvanized steel bucket full of apple candles. They look so real!
Thanks for stopping by! Take time to look through the recipes and see if there is something you can use!

Very fall tablescape. Apples are such an tradition in fall. Beautiful.
I LOVEEEEEEE the simple bucket full of apples. I so want to do an apple theme table. Yours is beautiful.
Hey! I love your Autumn tablescape!! What a smart idea to use the apple as a candleholder!!
see you next week!
Have a blessed day!!
Love your table and the idea to core the apple for a candle. My tables are very simple as well, compared to others I have visited. But my family loves what I do and that's what matters to me. Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
That is soooooo beautiful....I Love It.......I Love to be able to use the things I make.
Prayers, Bo
Hello Starr...
My friend, I love your pretty autumny table! What is it about apples that just say "autumn"? Love the beautiful butterscotch colored fabric that you found and used for a tablecloth...this is one of my favorite colors! You know, I also have been known to even use a bed sheet to cover a table! Hehe! Ohh my...a clean bed sheet/new sheet...eeks, that sounded a bit weird! Hehe! I love the pretty apple fabric runner too! So pretty and you're right...it looks fabulous with the butterscotch tablecloth! Your red dinner napkins are pretty but it will really finish the look when you sew up the matching apple napkins! Maybe you can double layer the apple napkin with the solid red napkin...I've done that before and love the pretty layered look! Now, I just adore the galvanized bucket...Girl, I thought the apples were real until I read that they were candles...totally awesome!!!
I giggled when I read your post! My honey and I are basically "empty nesters" now...but I remember a time when my kids were small...Girl, I did good many times to just get the food on the table! Forget the frills! Hehe! I love that you decorate your table for your family...I know that it surely makes them feel special!!! Thanks for sharing a bit of your home with us today...
Warmest wishes and Happy Fall!
Chari

Many Autumn Blessings to you!
I have enjoyed stopping by your blog to see what you have shared and gather all kinds of ideas.
Hope you'll drop by for some hot chocolate.

Very country cute!

Yes, my tablescapes are real---I often only have time to post quickies. But my hubby really loves the whole tablescape thing!! Yup, he does! Although the one I posted this week could hardly be called a tablescape. My family loves it when I do a bit more elaborate (which I did this week, but it is for a different posting)--and I find they linger longer at the table when I put more effort into it---feels like a special time.
Love it! I want to do a Tablescape Thursday sometime. You inspire me to do so. Maybe sometime soon.
You carried out your apple theme beautifully in this pretty "simple" tablescape. Cute idea to use cored apples for candlesticks!
Like yours, my tablescapes DO get used. In fact, I've done a lot more cooking & entertaining since I joined TT at Susan's just because I can't see setting up a pretty table & then not using it. LOL
Thanks for sharing yours!
fondly,
Rett
Your fall tablescape is beautiful! I love the bucket with the apples, as well as the apple colors and accessories.
