WOOHOO CELEBRATING 100 POSTS!

*EDITING THIS POST* to say that I'm opening the contest to any missionary currently serving on a foreign field.

This is my 100th post and to celebrate, I'd like to give a gift to one of my special readers here.
This is what the winner will receive:
A copy of one of my very favorite cookbooks: Gooseberry Patch. A set of homemade jams (Concord grape and also Peach - both made by me). And an assortment of Pampered Chef recipe booklets.

I like to give things that I like to receive and I absolutely LOVE the Gooseberry Patch Autumn cookbooks. I like the holiday ones too, but the Autumn ones, are by far, my favorites. This is the 2008 edition called Harvest Kitchens. I've already looked through it and convinced myself that I need to make another trip to Lansing to get one for myself! LOL

Here are the rules:

1. The contest will be open until 11pm EST, Sunday, October 5th. Using a random number generator, a winner will be selected and announced on Monday, October 6th.

2. One entry per person please. However, please feel free to share the good news with others.

3. Anyone may participate, as long as you have a valid mailing address in the United States (including Hawaii & Alaska) or Canada. Please
make sure you leave me a way to contact you. The selected winner must respond within 48 hours or another winner will be chosen.

4. When you leave your name, please tell me what your favorite Fall dish is. Be warned, I will probably be asking for some recipes! LOL

HAVE FUN AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS!

me first, me first :) I love to read cookbooks. When I'm bored on a Saturday afternoon, I'll pull them out and make up fabulous menus I'll have soon.

My favorite fall dish is any stew with root vegetables. Mmmmm, oh, and a good crusty roll to go with it.

I forgot to add that my favorite fall food is a nice warm bowl of chili with sour cream and shredded cheese! YUM!!!

Thanks for giving me the heads-up about the giveaway here! This is one of my favorite blogs to read! You post such "normal" yet exciting recipes and with great colorful pictures to illustrate them!

One of my favorite fall dishes is "Potato-Pumkin Pie". Mmmmmmm mmmmm good! It's actually made of neither potatoes nor pumpkins but from the striped cushaw squash. (That's what was in the wagon with our watermelons in the picture on my blog) Folks around here call them "Tater-Punkins". I had never heard of them before I married my hubby. I think it's much better than either pumpkin pie or sweet potato pie. Hoping to make one in a few days now.

You have a hum-dinger of a prize you're giving away on here! Would love to win it! But since I have canned so much jelly and preserves this year too, maybe the Lord will let some young lady that doesn't know how to do that win your grape jelly and peach preserves.

God bless you!

Marilyn

My favorite fall recipe is for pumpkin cookies. The recipe is on my recipe blog (where I "park" recipes from my family and my main blog).

I have had to give out that recipe almost everytime I have taken it someplace. I sent it to my sister in Tampa and she had the same thing happen.

I will second Kim's response with Chili. I love to make it. We serve ours over rice and top with sour cream and sharp cheddar.

Pumpkin cake is my favorite yummy for after dinner. It smells soooo good coming out of the oven.

Thank you Starr for the giveaway. I would love to taste your jam.

I would love to be entered in your drawing.
My favorite fall dish would have to be chile and cornbread. MMMMM..... that just makes me think of cool fall weather and hunkering down with a good book by the fireplace for dessert!

I also make pumpkin cookies in the fall.
Congrats on your 100 posts!

I honestly am NOT a fan of fall, mostly because it means winter is just around the corner!!! I am NO longer a fan of winter! :) :) :) However, now that I've found your site with such yummy recipes, I may be able to "comfort food" my way through the cold months! :) My favorite thing is probably my mom's beef stew though. It's really yummy and hardly ANY work! The oven does all the work and it bakes all afternoon, leaving the most pleasant aroma lingering around!!! YUMM-O! :) My contact info is "jesscusano@yahoo.com"!!! Thanks for having such a fun site!!!

I love your give away idea. Have been reading your site for a month or so, and have tried a few of the recipes, with a waiting list of more to try! I don't really have just "a favorite" fall recipe, but categories of favorites! I always look forward to the cooler weather so that i can fix soups and stews, as well as do some baking that i don't really like to do in the summer; sweet breads and apple crisp type things. These days i don't do much baking since i tend to "wear" it more easily than i used to.

Okay, I'd like to enter! My favorite fall dish is my husbands homemade vegetable soup. I don't know what he puts in it, but it is absolutely delicious!

Yea....us missionaries on the foreign field are being included!! How exciting!!

Since I never win anything, maybe your random number selector will feel sorry for me. So please put a good word in for me, will ya?

My favorite fall recipe is Chicken paprikash. A Hungarian recipe passed down in my husbands family from his great-grandmother that came "over on the boat". If you ask for the recipe...I could muddle my way through it, but it's really one of those a little of this and a little of that kind of recipe.

Thanks for the give-away....I think I need to do one. They are a lot of fun!
